Stem cells are born without any particular function in the bone marrow. However, once they specialize and stop being «stem cells,» they can become, among others: blood cells, neural cells, bone cells, or muscle cells.

After these cells have developed specific characteristics and functions, they travel through the bloodstream to the corresponding system in the body.
