A Screen-Shaped Body
Fabio Galiana Martínez
Good postural habits are essential for maintaining proper physical and mental health throughout life, not just when we reach old age. If we learn and practice the healthiest body knowledge possible from a young age, we can prevent a wide range of health problems.
When we talk about poor posture, we can point to a main collective culprit: screens. Our lives have become so conditioned by these useful allies that sometimes they turn into enemies. So incorporated into our daily routines—whether resting, during leisure time, in studies, or at work—screens can end up dominating our bodies without us realizing it. In reality, it’s not about our bodies adapting to screens, but rather them adapting to our healthy lifestyle.
Find out with these interactive infographics how a correct or incorrect posture affects our health, with special tips from UMH Physiotherapy professors Sergio Hernández and Carlos Lozano. You might feel stiffness at first, but your body will soon thank you. Put your skeleton in its proper place!
